9. Focus on the Short Term, Not the End Goal

When I first started my weight loss journey, I was overwhelmed thinking about how much weight I wanted to lose overall. Instead of focusing on the big number, I took it one day at a time.

I told myself “I just need to stick to my diet for the next 24 hours. If I really want that food tomorrow, I can have it then.” Taking it 24 hours at a time helped me stay committed without feeling deprived. I didn’t deny myself foods I loved, but I learned to space out indulgences and have them in moderation.

Focusing on the short term makes weight loss feel more manageable. Don’t let the end goal overwhelm you. Just commit to staying on track for the next day, and string enough successful days together to achieve results.
