10. The CKD Can Increase Weight Loss
In theory, the CKD provides the weight loss benefits of ketosis while overcoming potential metabolic downsides that could slow fat burning. The occasional carb feeds may reactivate your metabolism.
Insulin drops sharply on keto – great for signaling fat burning, but extended low insulin can negatively impact thyroid function. Strategic carb cycling may prevent this. Also, leptin levels sometimes stall on keto, but carb feeds may keep leptin sensitive for weight loss.
Anecdotally, many find they continue losing fat easily when following a CKD long-term versus hitting a plateau after months on standard keto. But individual results can vary based on several factors.
