After giving up sugar, eating fewer grains is very difficult for most people. The reason: pasta, rice, or bread are eaten at almost every meal if they are not even the main ingredient.

Especially when losing weight, however, it makes sense to reduce grains in the diet. No, not because of gluten. Grains – regardless of whether they are whole grains or not – consist mainly of carbohydrates and sugar.

Carbohydrates are the number 1 energy source in the body and are therefore essential. It only becomes problematic if you constantly eat too many.

Excess carbs that you do not use directly for energy production are converted into fat and stored for “bad times.”

They also cause our blood sugar levels to rise (and fall) rapidly. Grains, unlike vegetables, also contain about ten times more calories. The way out of the carb trap: our low carb nutrition plan.
