5. What is allowed to eat in the sirtfood diet?
Not surprisingly, for fat burning to work well, sirtfood should be a good part of your diet. But which foods contain the phytochemicals that are supposed to stimulate sirtuins?
- Chocolate and red wine
- Vegetables: green vegetables such as arugula, broccoli, chicory, cabbage, radish, spinach, lettuce, white and red onions, garlic
- Fruit: apples, berries, cherries, citrus fruits, plums, grapes
- Herbs: parsley, dried basil, dried thyme
- Spices: turmeric, chili, cinnamon, capers
- Nuts: cashew nuts, walnuts
- Soy products: Tofu
- Fats: Olive oil
- Drinks: black tea, green tea, coffee, red wine, cocoa
The green juices or smoothies on the menu in phases 1 and 2 can be easily made from the list of foods and blended as desired.
