Clean out your fridge regularly and also check your pantry and drawers for sugar bombs. Then, write yourself a shopping list and stock up on healthy supplies, including:
- fresh vegetables and fruits (frozen goods are okay for vegetables)
- Potatoes and sweet potatoes
- whole grain rice, pasta, and bread, quinoa, red lentils
- Canned legumes (e.g., beans, lentils, chickpeas)
- Meat or fish (preferably organic, poultry, beef, salmon, frozen fish, okay)
- Nuts, seeds, flaxseed, and oatmeal
- Eggs, milk, natural yogurt, cheese, and cottage cheese
- Healthy vegetable oils
- Dark chocolate (from 80 percent cocoa)
- Dried Fruit (for craving emergencies)
- Vegetable broth
- Coconut milk
- Herbal and green tea
