Fecal transplant:
With just a fecal transplant, a research team from the University of Amsterdam has succeeded to positively influence the blood sugar of people with metabolic syndrome. They transferred the purified and filtered stool from healthy, slim donors to the digestive tract of nine men affected by type 2 diabetes. The administration of the microbiota improved the limited sensitivity to the blood sugar-lowering hormone insulin in the metabolic syndrome. “Fecal transplantation could be a key to cure diabetes,” the scientists hope.
